MUSTER
Version: October 12, 2026
Muster is an open-source version of Termout's new module for terminology extraction.
Download the source code:
https://tecling.com/muster/muster12OCT2026.zip
Unzip it, and run it like this:
perl muster.pl inputfolder
where inputfolder is the full path of a folder containing
an LSP corpus, consisting only of txt files in English and Spanish.
If you are on a Windows machine and you do not want to install a Perl interpreter,
you can also download the Windows executable version:
https://tecling.com/muster/musterWindows.zip
The procedure would be the same. Download the file, unzip it somewhere in your pc, open a terminal, navigate to the folder where you put it, and run like this:
muster.exe inputfolder
There is even a binary version for Linux users, available here:
https://tecling.com/muster/musterLinuxBinary.zip
Again, the procedure would be the same. Download the zip file to your pc, unzip it, give the file permission to execute:
chmod 755 muster
And then execute the program like this:
./muster inputfolder
The result should be the same in all cases.
This algorithm and its implementation is described in the following chapter:
+Nazar, R. (2026).
Peter Lang, pp. 243--267.
Unfortunately, it is only in Spanish, and not open access. But at some point we will update the documentation to offer at least a brief description.
