paper corpusSignosTxtLongLines602 - : Knowledge Surveys (KS) were developed by ^[62]Nuhfer and Knipp (2003), based on their earlier work (^[63]Knipp, 2001; ^[64]Nuhfer, 1996), as a tool for students to identify their knowledge confidence levels, also providing teachers with a powerful course organization tool. A KS lists the topics to be covered during the course and students indicate their perceived level of knowledge on the particular topic. The KS is usually performed at the beginning and the end of a course, which has the dual benefit of allowing students to revise the content they should know and for teachers to identify potentially weaker areas of knowledge. It is considered a more efficient tool than traditional evaluations (^[65]Bowers, Brandon & Hill, 2005), in that it can be completed relatively fast, as students are not writing the answers but
rating their confidence level on their ability to answer the questio
