paper CO_Lenguajetxt74 - : Learning journals. Available literature on journal writing pinpoints the convenience to provide a framework to guide reflection for users (Smyth, 1989). During the presentation of the research project, in week two, a letter-sized learning journal format was presented to participants. It provided blank spaces for name, class session, and date. It was a simplification of a reading activity that had been designed to explain Smyth's four stages of reflection: description, information, confrontation and reconstruction .
